Format & Rules

The Monroe Invitational is a 72-hole stroke play tournament played on the par 70 Monroe Golf Club championship layout. Tee times begin at 7:00 am each of the four days. There will be a cut to the top 45 players and ties after the third round (54 holes) on Friday. The awards ceremony will take place following completion of play on Saturday at approximately 1:00 pm

Participant Rules and Information

Registration

Players must register by 12:00pm on Monday, July 22nd. The Registration Desk is located in the “Vista” Ballroom of the clubhouse. If you cannot register at the above time, you may forfeit your position in the tournament.

Starting Times

Wednesday and Thursdays’ pairing and starting times will be available by Monday, July 22nd. Friday’s and Saturday’s times will be available by 7:00 pm the night before. Starting times will also be posted on the Monroe Invitational web site.

Withdrawal

If an entrant withdraws prior to July 1st for any reason, a $25 handling fee will be withheld from their entry fee. If an entrant withdraws after July 1st, players must submit a letter to the committee with their reasoning for cancellation or there will be no refund.

Dress Code

Golf shorts or pants are permissible but may not have cargo pockets or frayed bottoms. Proper collared shirts are required during all phases of the Tournament including all practice. The Monroe Golf Club has a policy of no denim at any time except during the long drive contest.

Footwear

It is a condition of the competition that shoes with metal spikes are prohibited. Penalty for breach of the condition is disqualification.

Equipment

Equipment must conform with all USGA Rules and Regulations.

The Monroe Invitational Blitz

The top ranked 30 players are required to play in the Monroe Invitational Blitz Event on Tuesday, July 23rd. All Blitz players are required to attend the luncheon at 12:00 pm sharp to meet your playing partners. The Blitz is a shotgun start at 1:30 pm, Blitz event participants will be identified.
